Farm Sanctuary Collection







Farm Sanctuary moved the residents from this Northern California location to their Finger Lakes New York location in Watkins Glen in 2018 and ceased operations here that year. Photo taken 7-27-2016.
A highly independent group of sheep rescued from Santa Cruz Island in California when The Nature Conservancy in 1997 started a purge of the 2500-member population of feral sheep that had been on the island since the 1800s. 200 sheep were released to the sanctuary to live out their lives.
By 2012 when this photograph was taken, much of the original flock had died and the remaining flock were very old. The last member of this group died after 2016. Photo taken 8-12-2012.
February in Orland was one of the months when the normally yellow grasses were verdant. This is an image of Debra goat at the top of the goat pastures. The goat playground can be partially seen behind Debra. Photo taken 2-12-2013.
